About me
Hello, parents and students! I'm Lauren, and I am not your average tutor. I am a full-time academic and test prep tutor, and I have helped over 150 students improve their scores, grades, and passion for learning.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brown in 2011 and was in the top 10% of my class at a top private school in Northern NJ, where I took a combined AP / IB curriculum. I have been a professional academic and test prep tutor for the past decade, both privately and through Ivy Bound, and I have worked with over 150 students. My specialties include teaching the SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, GMAT, LSAT, and GRE; helping with math and English high school courses; tutoring for AP and IB tests; and guiding students through the undergraduate and graduate admissions process, from crafting the perfect essay to getting into the best schools.
When I work with students, I create individualized curriculums, track their progress and strengths/weaknesses, suggest the best materials, create study schedules and timetables for testing and retesting, work on pacing and test strategy, and so much more. I commit to tutoring full-time, only work with a select number of students at once, and am available round the clock to provide the best support for my students.
My comprehensive approach means that my students see actual results. My students have been accepted to top colleges, and many have attended Ivy League universities. Points and grades aside, I have stayed with many students for years - and I have seen the results that I have - because students really like working with me, and I like working with them. You will better understand my personality in person, but I am repeatedly told that my students have never met a tutor like me. I can connect and relate with my students and instill confidence.
