An Antidote to Bad June SAT Scores

Improve Your Scores

View Classes

As you might have heard, many students are disappointed with their June 2023 SAT scores. The College Board adjusted the scoring scale to be unexpectedly low, as they considered this test to be “easier” than previous exams. Students who answered more questions correctly on this SAT compared to a previous exam saw very minor score improvements. Our founder, Mark Greenstein, offers advice to these students to combat their surprisingly low test scores.

Take the SAT Multiple Times

Depending on how difficult the exam is considered to be, you could have a normal or forgiving scale to combat June’s low score. When prepping for the SAT, be sure to do so carefully.

This time around, three wrong questions brought students down from what could have been a 790 to a 720. Taking your time with each question and answering correctly – while finishing within the time limit – could result in additional points.

Take the SAT & ACT

We’ve been promoting the SAT and ACT for nearly  3 years. It makes sense to take both tests, so well prepared students can show their skills no matter the random scale of the SAT.

The ACT has been much more consistent in their scaling. Even if it were inconsistent, you have more data points to show the colleges that need one great score on the ACT or SAT.

At Ivy Bound, we help students who have prepped for the SAT and need a little more to cover the ACT questions they missed. Let us help you raise your score this summer!
