About me
My passion for education parallels my love for medicine, leaving me to pursue a career in academic surgery. Throughout my undergraduate education at Brown University, I was highly involved with teaching and tutoring in the Providence community and at the university. Aside from independently developing and teaching music classes for middle school students, I worked with Hispanic students at a public high school in Providence, teaching Biology in Spanish to native Spanish-speakers. Within the university, I was a teaching assistant for an upper level neurobiology course for two semesters. My dedication to and excitement for the position earned me the Neuroscience department award at graduation. I continued to teach throughout medical school in a wide variety of subjects for students of all ages, with a focus on the sciences, and my job now as a surgical resident at the University of Pennsylvania allows me to educate medical students on a daily basis.
