About me
The keys to Robert’s effectiveness as a teacher and tutor are his prodigious communication skills and his love of life-long learning. A professional actor, Robert has also written, produced, and hosted classical music radio shows; edited publications for institutions like the New York Philharmonic, the 92nd Street Y and the Shubert Theater, New Haven; and written tests for online college courses in English Composition and American Government.
He began his teaching career as director of a summer Shakespeare academy for high school students, and has also taught Acting Shakespeare, a graduate course, at Wesleyan University, and classes at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. He has been helping students succeed in their academic courses and prepare for the SAT and ACT, for over ten years, and has former students attending, or having graduated from, Harvard, Stanford, Duke and other distinguished schools.
With his deep tutoring experience, Robert has insight into the concepts, strategies and idiosyncrasies behind each test, and he shares this knowledge with his students, giving them an edge over less informed test-takers. He also endeavors to make each session enjoyable for his students by employing both his communication skills and his naturally engaging personality, encouraging his students to cultivate a love of learning and of the life of the mind.
