About me
Hello, my name is Sharisse Kanet. I have been employed as a tutor since age ten, and I absolutely love teaching. I graduated high school in three years as Valedictorian. I attended Wesleyan University, graduating in 2006 with degrees in Mathematics and Philosophy. Currently, I split my time between New York and Connecticut. In New York, I attended CUNY Graduate Center. I graduated with a PhD in Philosophy in 2019. I had been an adjunct professor of philosophy at Queens College, now at WCSU, teaching symbolic logic. In Connecticut, I teach meditation and martial arts, as well as tutor special needs high school students, and the SAT Classes at the Middlesex Consortium.
My areas of expertise are the SAT I, SSAT, Math IC, Math IIC, ACT, AP English Literature and Composition, AP English Language and Composition, and GRE. I am also experienced in teaching special needs students, as well as students of almost every age between 7 and 55+. Even more than my experience, the skill that I make the most use of is showing students how to enjoy the subjects they are studying.
