About me
I have been teaching for Ivy Bound since 2009 and greatly enjoy working with my students to maximize their academic success. I have tutored over one hundred and fifty private clients, as well as several group classes. In my time with Ivy Bound, I have developed a teaching style that stresses clarity, transparency, and accessibility through the use of techniques catered to an individual student’s method of processing and applying information. My method helps students to identify with and comprehend core testing concepts, rather than dull memorization. This presentation of testing materials energizes my students and motivates them to surpass their existing goals. Communication between student, parent, and teacher is an integral part of the test prep process, and I welcome my clients to contact me at any time via phone or email if I can be of any assistance with assignments, test planning, or academic advice. My dedicated students frequently exceed 200 point SAT score increases, with some students achieving 300 to 500 point score gains. On the ACT, I target 3-5 point composite score increases, with larger gains possible for individual section scores. I am passionate about all sections of the SAT and ACT, all levels of math from pre-algebra to calculus C, Chemistry and Biology up to the AP level, academic mentorship, and high school and college academic admissions and writing preparation.
I am currently a resident in training in the New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medicine, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where I treat patients requiring surgical management for trauma, infection, pathology, and congenital anomalies of the jaws and face, and maintain teaching hours on weekday evenings and weekends in the New York City area and online via Zoom and virtual whiteboard software.
